Belgian School. Montmartre/Paris France 1894-Andenne Belgium 1981“Magnificent impressionistic view on the village of Blankenberge in Begium”. Oil on academy board, well signed and dated 1924. The size of the board is 13.3x8 inches. The painting is in lovely condition and extremely pleasant. Beside that it’s lovely painted in magnificent colours. Maurice Delport was born in Montmartre in Paris in 1894 from Belgian parents. He moved to Belgium were he lived and worked. He became well known for his lovelely naïve paintings. This painting is from his early period and shows the village of Blankenberge at the Northsea coast. Blankenberge is a famous bathingvillage. It’s a gordious painting.
