Dutch School. Kampen 1857-Hattem 1941 (attributed)“Magnificent impressionist painting of cows along the river IJssel”. Oil on canvas, well framed and painted around 1940. Compared with other paintings by him, his style, and colouruse this painting is attribited to this painter and likely painted at the end of his life. This could be the reason that the painting is not signed. The size of the canvas is 18.4x14.4 inches. Both painting and frame are in excellent condition. Jan Voerman lived and worked in Kampen, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Hattem, He was a student with C.H. Hein, J.D. Belmer, at the Art Academy of Amsterdam, with A. Allebé and with Ch. Verlat at the Art Academy of Antwerp in Belgium. He started as a painter of Jewish interiors but became real famous for his outstanding landscapes and riverviews along the river IJssel. He became his own Museum in Hattem. He taughed many important painters and work of him can be found in all major Dutch museums and abroad. Exhibitions in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Antwerp, Arnhem.
